Gill also gives Kyle the motivation to get healthy and hopefully walk again, as well as helps him out in other area's of their love life that Kyle thought he'd never had again. I just love how sweet Gill is and how much he loves Kyle. On to the next one! Apr 12, Christy Stewart rated it liked it Shelves: This is a really good rough draft, as it is, it reads like a well written outline of a better story.
A lot of the cripple stuff was a little weird and off, but I haven't read a book yet that wasn't. Still, a sweet slash story. I liked the idea of the whole town knows what's up so we might as well just hook up approach Gill had. I also really liked the unromantic details Lynne thought to use in her conflicts. I don't think I would even get gas in a place called Cattle Valley, but it sounds romantic This is a really good rough draft, as it is, it reads like a well written outline of a better story.
I don't think I would even get gas in a place called Cattle Valley, but it sounds romantic to me now. Feb 27, Chappy rated it really liked it Shelves: This was my favorite of the Cattle Valley series so far. Kyle and Gill make a great team. Kyle's disability doesn't seem to faze Gill and that's just what he needs I love how, when Kyle feels shy or vulnerable about his "issues", Gill just rolls with it and slowly builds Kyle trust through love and comfort and hot hot sexy times!!! Jan 14, Mountie rated it liked it Shelves: This is my favorite book by Carol Lynne, not on the strength of the writing but on the subject matter.
I thought she approached the subject of Kyle's disability straight on with integrity and compassion and without glossing over the challenges. If a person wants to try out a Carol Lynne work, I always suggest they read this book.

I am sure that I will be moving on with this series in the near future I can't seem to help myself! Aug 08, Chiara rated it liked it Shelves: Can't say I got hooked on the cattle valley saga yet. A bit too much instalove followed by predictable story line. The two MCs are sweet and caring, but perhaps too black and white. This is a quick easy comfort read for relaxing days. Kyle was in car accident several years ago that left him in a wheel chair; he manages just fine but has pretty much written off the chance for any kind of romantic relationship. I also enjoyed seeing Gil put forth the effort to educate himself on what Kyle would need so that he could help the other man whenever necessary.

Sometimes you can't revisit old series - they don't stand up to the test of time. Jun 02, Pamela Su rated it liked it Shelves: This is kind of an interesting small town. This was quite sweet, but a little bit too angsty for my liking. Apr 12, Kelly rated it it was amazing.
TWELVE (12) CAROL LYNNE's CATTLE VALLEY series: Vols. 1-12 in paperback
This is actually the second time I have read this book. Carol is one of my favorite writers and the men in her books are HOT As you read through the series, you have an inside view of the people of Cattle Valley and get to know them through their stories. I am not going to say much about the storyline, I don't want to spoil the story for other readers, but I will say this about our MC Kyle and Gil.
Kyle owns the local bakery and is in a wheelchair, Gil runs his own garage which is located a short distance from Kyle's Bakery.

Once these two connect they are HOT together. Join Kyle and Gil on their journey to happiness, and while their you can meet some of the other residents in this very unique town of Cattle Valley.
This is my 2nd trip to Cattle Valley, never get tired of visiting the town or getting re aquainted with the residents of Cattle Valley. Apr 26, Danni rated it liked it Shelves: This was my first read on the Cattle Valley series although this is the 3rd book in the series. A lot of the characters from the previous books show up in this book and there is a lot of banter and discussions going on between the MCs and the other characters.
I think I would have gotten more out of it if I had read the previous books. I liked Gill and Kyle as a couple and how Gill encouraged Kyle to take steps forward. There was a little mystery part in the book, but I felt it might have just as well been left out. Or that something more came out of it once it was solved.
It seems like that is the time when he would most likely feel like there was no reason to do it. This was an ok read for me and I will probably check out other books in the series. Starting from the beginning this time: Sep 29, Wendy Ann rated it really liked it Shelves: I really enjoyed this book, but made a couple of discoveries along the way. As I was trying to decide on my next book for a reading challenge, this story jumped out at me. I realized it was part of a series 3 , but many times, each book in a series can stand on its own.
This, however, is definitely one of those series that makes sense to read in order. While a large part of this story was independent, I felt like I missed some important background and build up. Not to be taken as a negative, t I really enjoyed this book, but made a couple of discoveries along the way. Not to be taken as a negative, this actually only piqued my curiosity even more and I knew I had to go back and catch up with the first two books after finishing this one.
I thoroughly enjoyed Gill and Kyle's story and I really give kudos to Carol for bringing us a main character coping with a physical disability and another who could love him enough to see beyond those challenges. Now, back to the start of the series Jan 24, Tonileg rated it it was ok Shelves: Gill was a great guy, but still a guy and totally missed the emotional trauma that he starts when he lets the love of his life, Kyle, think that Gill will only love him if he can walk like a regular man.
I really liked how the ramps and automatic doors for the wheel chair bound was mentioned because it really is a huge problem if you aren't 'normal' to even open a door or get help. That was really well done of the author to subtly add that to the story!

Jul 10, UrbanFirefly rated it liked it. Sweet topping is in no way a bad book. As a matter of fact it's It's just that at some point it became a bit too sweet for me. I need them to talk to each other and go place, to argue and make up. We start ST after Gill and Kyle have known each other for awhile and are already deeply attracted to each other. I needed to see those moments that were not on the page in Sweet Toppings.
I need to love the characters as much as they love each other. While Gill and Kyle where nice guys,I just didn't see how their relationship progressed to love so fast. If you want a sweet story and you don't mind a bit of insta-loving you may like this one. There are no discussion topics on this book yet.
